It is no exaggeration to say A24 When it comes to movies, it doesn’t just pull a good chunk of it.
From spring to summer this year alone X, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Men’s, Marcel the Shell in Shoes, When body body bodynot to mention upcoming headline stealers like whalemarks the triumphant return of actor Brendan Fraser after a turbulent and tragic decline in the industry.
The upcoming A24 movie suggests it’s the biggest we’ve seen so far (especially the everywhere everything), that’s why variety It’s a surefire way to grab attention.
the movie in question Disappointment Boulevard.a comedy-horror feature from A24’s veteran director Ari Aster (hereditary, midsummer) and starring Joaquin Phoenix (joker) is the leading role. There’s very little information about the film at this point, but it does detail a brief synopsis that captures the decades-long life of one of history’s most successful entrepreneurs.
Additional cast members include Patti LuPone, Nathan Lane, Amy Ryan, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Parker Posey, Denise Menochet (Inglourious Basterds), Michael Gandolfini (The Sopranos), Richard Kind, Kylie Rogers, Hayley Squires, Zoe Lister-Jones.
As if this solid ensemble, led by a proven lead actor and director, wasn’t enough to suggest Disappointment Boulevard. As A24’s biggest ever movie, Astor has confirmed in 2020 that his next movie (i.e. this one) will be a “nightmare comedy” with a running time of over four hours. Perhaps such suggestions were meant literally.
Disappointment Boulevard. is slated for release in 2023, and from what we know so far, it doesn’t seem like a disappointment.
