A few weeks ago, conservative Republican George Conway lawyer issued a statement about the responsibility of COVID-19 and Trump to the American people.

He has long argued that Trump is ineligible for office and that former special adviser Robert Mueller’s report on Russian interference in the election has already provided enough evidence to justify Trump’s removal from office.
Since Trump’s election, he has retweeted numerous articles critical of the president and last week co-authored the OP-ED with the New York Times, arguing that Trump’s appointment of attorney general Matthew Whitaker Interim after forcing Jeff Sessions to resign was unconstitutional Last month, he wrote in The Washington Post that the president’s promise to repeal birthright citizenship violated the Constitution. 
Conway retweeted the president’s tweet and said he was undermining his career by tweeting such remarks.
In June, for example, Conway retweeted one of Trump’s travel bans to six Muslim-majority countries and essentially said the president was not doing himself any favours by posting such tweets. 
Ever since Trump became President of the United States and Kellyanne became a White House Counsel, there have been reports of George Conway tweeting things about the President that could be interpreted as criticism or disapproval.

A group of 16 prominent conservative lawyers, including George Conway, husband of White House Counsel Kellyanne Conway, released a statement on Thursday saying that President Donald Trump’s “de facto unchallenged” demands for foreign governments to investigate his political opponents pose a threat to American democracy.

The White House said it would not cooperate with the investigation. The White House, as well as George and Kellyanne Conway, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
